FOR OIL COLOURS
PAINTING MEDIUM:
Thins oil paint. Enhances gloss without affecting drying time.
QUICK DRY MEDIUM:
Thins and accelerates drying time of paint.
STAND OIL:
Improves flow of paint but is of thicker consistency than linseed
oil. Best
to use only in the final layers of painting. Blurs brushstrokes.
Suitable for incorporation with glazing technique.
LINSEED OIL:
Reduces paint consistency. Increases gloss and transparency while
slowing the paint's drying rate.
E-Z WHITE:
Oil based underpaint. Water soluble, used to hold and blend firm
water-
soluble oil colours on canvas. Designed specifically for wet on
wet techniques.
MIRACLE WHITE:
Oil based underpaint used to hold and blend firm oil colours on
canvas. Designed specifically for wet on wet techniques.
ODORLESS SOLVENT (Taltine):
Low odor diluent alternative to turpentine. Dries
slowly and is therefore useful in controlling alkyd and oil colours.
TURPENTINE SUBSTITIUTE:
A natural substitute with a light, distinct smell.
Excellent for cleaning brushes but not recommended for thinning
paint.
DAMMAR VARNISH:
Dries quickly to a high gloss. For use with oil and alkyd
paintings, prints, maps and drawings.
PICTURE VARNISH:
A traditional way of protecting oil paintings. Dries quickly to
a
high gloss.
PICTURE VARNISH MATTE:
Another traditional way to protect your oil painting that
dries clearly to a matte finish.
RETOUCHING VARNISH:
Dries to a non-yellowing finish. Provides temporary
protection to recently completed oil paintings. Designed to
allow overpainting and does not form a skin on the canvas.
SICCATIF:
Shortens drying time in a progressive manner.
SAFFLOWER OIL:
A drying oil with similar properties to poppy seed oil. Does not
yellow and dries quickly. Helps to soften and improve the flow of
oil colours. Particularly useful with white and other light colours.
